Dr. Price has been a visiting professor and guest lecturer at numerous universities in the United States, Canada, and abroad. She has served as a Director of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a consultant to the Academy. Dr. Price is co-founder of the National Alopecia Areata Foundation and the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation. She has worked extensively with black hair. She described proximal trichorrhexis nodosa, which is the most common cause of acquired hair breakage in the African-American population, and she pioneered work in scarring hair loss in black women. She was a founding member of the North American Hair Research Society in 1990 and was elected to be its first president. |
